Light is one of the biggest clues to where a plant will feel at home. Before moving a plant, notice how bright the room feels through the day and whether the sun falls directly onto the leaves.
Bright, indirect light means a space is well lit without strong midday sun landing on the plant. A spot a little back from a bright window can work well for many leafy houseplants. Lower-light corners receive less natural light, so growth may be slower there.
Try a new location for a little while and watch the plant rather than relying on a strict schedule. If leaves begin to look bleached or scorched, move it away from direct sun; if growth is sparse, it may need a brighter place.
